A Notebook for All Your Trip Research — Plus Calendar Sync and a Smarter Trip Summary

July was about giving a trip a memory — a place for all the research that usually gets lost — plus getting your itinerary onto the calendar you actually check.

📓 A notebook for everything you learn about a trip

Every trip collects stray research that has nowhere to live — a packing tip from the group chat, a permit question you looked into, a local's restaurant recommendation. There's now a Notebook tab for exactly that.

A single composer at the top saves whatever you type the moment you hit Enter — no fields to fill in first. Paste a URL and it's saved as a link. Type anything else and it's a note. Refine it later — add a topic tag, scope it to a specific day or item, jot down what to actually do about it — by opening the card whenever you're ready.

This tab absorbed two older half-features — trip notes and the "Explore" link suggestions — so nothing you'd saved before is gone. It just has a better home now.

🗓️ Sync your itinerary to your calendar

Any trip participant can now subscribe to a trip's confirmed itinerary items from their own calendar app — Google, Apple, or Outlook — via a new "Sync to Calendar" option. Add it once and new confirmations keep showing up on their own. Turn it off any time, and turn it back on later without anyone having to resubscribe.

Only confirmed items make the cut — proposed ones stay off your personal calendar until the group actually locks them in.

🧭 A trip summary that reflects your actual group

The trip summary you get the moment a trip is created keeps getting sharper. The trip owner can now tune it: pick a few interests, and Bonder reruns the search and rewrites the summary around your group's actual answers instead of guessing from just the destination and trip length.

It now folds in a climate note and a timezone note too, so instead of two overlapping summaries you get one. And we smoothed a few rough edges along the way: the headline always matches your actual destination now, a blogger's own starting city can no longer sneak in as your group's, and the wording favors plain language over insider jargon.

🏞️ National parks and monuments now work as destinations

If you tried setting a national park, monument, or similar landmark as your trip's destination, it might not have shown up in search at all — or worse, quietly saved the wrong nearby town instead. Both are fixed: search for the real place, get the real place back.

👥 Suggested tripmates, now everywhere

The one-tap suggestions for people you've traveled with before — introduced last month when creating a trip — now also show up when adding someone to a trip that already exists, so re-adding a regular travel partner never means retyping their email twice.

🐛 Fixes and polish

• "Idea" trips without real dates yet now sort chronologically alongside confirmed trips instead of always dropping to the bottom, regardless of how soon they're actually happening.
• Fixed a cluster of timezone bugs that could show an itinerary item on the wrong calendar day — including one that could quietly shift a saved date when you dragged an item to a different day.
• The calendar grid no longer hides items that fall outside a trip's official start/end dates — they were being silently dropped instead of shown.
• Importing a blog itinerary into a trip with real dates now lands each item on its actual date instead of dumping everything into "Unscheduled."
