Track and split expenses
Expenses are private by default. Share them with someone, split them evenly or by percentage or amount, record payments, and export to a spreadsheet.
Private by default
Every expense you add is private to you until you choose otherwise, so personal spending can live right next to shared costs. Each expense has an amount, a date, a location, and one of six categories: accommodations, transportation, food, activities, shopping, or other.
Split an expense
When a cost is shared, split it from the expense:
- Even: divide the total equally among the people you pick.
- By percentage: give each person a share, useful when the suite costs more than the pull-out couch.
- By amount: enter exact amounts per person.
Your share is calculated and shown on each expense.
Splitting with someone who isn't on the trip: add them as a guest on that one expense. They're included in the split without getting access to the rest of the trip.
Share your expenses
Sharing is different from splitting: it gives another trip member full visibility into your expenses for the trip, without duplicating entries. It's handy for couples, or when one person keeps the budget.
Sharing goes one way. If you share with someone, they see your expenses; they'd need to share back for you to see theirs. Sharing never reveals expenses other people created.
Record payments
Mark an expense paid, or enter a partial payment, and set a due date if it helps. Filter the list by payment status to see what's still open.
Recording a payment is for keeping track. Bonder doesn't move money.
Export to a spreadsheet
On desktop, export every expense you can see to a CSV file. It opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets and includes amounts, split details, and your share. The export includes everything, not just what the current filter shows.
