Use Bonder from Claude or ChatGPT
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your Bonder account to check your trips for gaps and whether they're realistic, save research, add itinerary items, and log expenses from the same conversation.
If you research trips in Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect it to Bonder and keep going in the same conversation: ask about your trips, save what you find, and add ideas to the itinerary for your group to weigh in.
Bonder isn't made by or affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI. You need a Claude or ChatGPT plan that supports custom connectors.
Connect
- In Bonder, go to Settings → Connected assistants and copy the connector URL.
- Add a connector in your assistant:
- Claude: open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it first under Organization settings → Connectors; then you choose Connect on it.
- ChatGPT: open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Set authentication to OAuth and choose Create as a plugin. Workspace plans may limit custom servers to admins.
- Name it Bonder, paste the URL, and save.
- Sign in to Bonder when asked, check what it's allowed to do, and choose Allow access.
These menus belong to Claude and ChatGPT, and they move from time to time. If a step doesn't match, look for "connectors" or "custom MCP server" in your assistant's settings.
What it can do
- See every trip you're on: dates, destinations, who's going, the itinerary, saved research, and the trip's travel limits (like a daily driving cap). It can't see dietary, accessibility or other written preferences.
- Check a trip for gaps: nights with no place to stay, missing transport between destinations or to and from home, and days with nothing planned. It's the same check your itinerary shows in Bonder. A gap only means it isn't in Bonder yet, so your assistant asks before adding anything.
- Check whether a trip is realistic: too much time spent travelling between stops, a drive over someone's daily limit, too many stops, or stays shorter than your minimum. These are the same warnings your trip's Overview shows. Each one says whose limit it is: a person on the trip, a trip-wide setting, or Bonder's default if no one set one. It also lists transport that needs re-routing after your destinations changed, and asks before fixing it.
- See what's left to book: nights or travel with only proposed options in the next month, and stays or tickets marked confirmed with no booking reference saved. These are the same items your Bonder to-do list shows. Your assistant asks rather than assuming nothing is booked, and anything you marked Not needed or snoozed on your to-do list stays out of its answer.
- Spot time conflicts: items whose times overlap, and transport legs that leave before the previous one arrives. It's the same check as the badges on your itinerary, and your assistant asks before moving anything. Items that overlap each other come back as one group, not pair by pair. Your assistant also catches an item that ends before it starts, which is usually a typo in the date. Your itinerary doesn't badge that one yet.
- Add, edit, and remove itinerary items, and save research and links to the trip's Notebook. New items start as proposed, so the group can weigh in. It can't remove an item that has votes or discussion.
- Track expenses: list the expenses you can see, sum up your share per currency, and log, edit, split, or mark expenses paid. New expenses are private by default, and it never converts between currencies.
Changes work only on unlocked trips where you're the Organizer or a Co-Planner. Your assistant works within the role you have on each trip.
What it can't do
- Make or take payments, send invitations, or change who's on the trip.
- Create or unlock trips, or change your account, email, or password.
- Change anything on a trip where you're a Viewer, or on a trip that isn't unlocked.
Try asking
- "Show me my next Bonder trip."
- "What's still missing from my Lisbon trip?"
- "Is my Portugal trip realistic, or am I driving too much?"
- "Is anything double-booked on my Lisbon trip?"
- "What's left to book for Lisbon?"
- "Save this as research for my Lisbon trip."
- "Add dinner at Time Out Market on day 2 as a proposed activity."
- "Log the €84 dinner from last night on my Lisbon trip, split evenly."
Disconnect
Go to Settings → Connected assistants and choose Disconnect. That assistant loses access right away, and connecting again needs a new approval.
Each time you add the connector, it shows up there as a new connection with when it was last used. If you set it up more than once, disconnect the ones marked Never used.
If your assistant says it hit a limit, wait a minute and try again.
